Common symptoms

What you'll notice

• Check the turbocharger/supercharger for any physical damage or signs of wear and tear.
• Inspect the wastegate or blow
• off valve to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Clean or replace the air filter to ensure proper airflow to the turbocharger/supercharger.
• Verify the integrity of the boost pressure sensor and related wiring.
• Perform an engine tune
• up, including checking and adjusting the fuel mixture and ignition timing.

2. Restriction or blockage in the intake or exhaust system
3. Faulty wastegate or blowing off valve
4. Engine or transmission mechanical issues causing excessive RPM
5. Low engine oil level or oil contamination in the turbocharger/supercharger

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

1. Loss of power or decrease in engine performance
2. Engine misfire or hesitation
3. Loud whining or grinding noise from the engine
4. Black smoke from the exhaust
5. Check engine light illuminated
