What it means

P0128 means the engine coolant isn't reaching its normal operating temperature quickly enough after a cold start. The ECM expected the coolant to warm to around 195°F within a set time and it didn't — almost always because the thermostat is stuck open and letting coolant circulate too soon. The car still runs fine, but heat and fuel economy suffer.
