P0207

Cylinder 7 Injector A Circuit

Fuel injector circuit Generic OBD-II High

What it means

P0207 means the ECM has detected an electrical fault — usually an open or short — in the fuel-injector control circuit for cylinder 7. With that injector not firing properly, cylinder 7 misfires, so the engine runs rough, loses power, and may be hard to start. A persistent misfire can overheat and damage the catalytic converter, so address it soon.

High

Can I keep driving? Drivable but rough — a dead injector means cylinder 7 misfires and the engine loses power; running it long risks catalytic-converter damage, so repair soon.

Common symptoms

What you'll notice

Common causes

Most likely first

  1. Faulty cylinder 7 fuel injector
  2. Open or short in the injector wiring
  3. Corroded or loose injector connector
  4. Injector driver fault inside the ECM/PCM

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Scan and read freeze-frame data to confirm the cylinder 7 injector circuit fault.
  2. Inspect the injector connector and wiring for damage, corrosion, or an open circuit.
  3. Measure the injector's resistance against specification.
  4. Verify injector operation (swap-test with another cylinder if practical).
  5. Replace the injector if faulty, then clear and retest.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is it safe to drive with P0207?+
Only briefly. Cylinder 7 misfiring makes the engine run rough and can overheat and damage the catalytic converter. Repair it soon.
Can I just clear P0207?+
It returns while the injector or its circuit is faulty. Because a raw misfire can harm the converter, fix the cause rather than clearing it.
