What this part does
The evaporative emission (EVAP) system purge control valve is an electrically operated valve that opens to let fuel vapor stored in the charcoal canister be drawn into the engine and burned. The engine computer opens it in measured amounts when conditions suit. When it fails, you may notice a warning light, rough idle, or hard starting after fueling.
