What it means

P0234 means the turbo or supercharger is producing more boost than the ECM allows. That usually points to a wastegate or boost-control valve that isn't bleeding off pressure. Overboost can damage the turbo and engine, so the ECM typically cuts power to protect them. Expect limp mode under load until the boost-control fault is repaired.
