  2. Faulty fuel fill door unlock control module
  3. Corrosion or debris in the fuel fill door lock mechanism
  4. Short circuit or malfunction in the fuel fill door unlock control switch
  5. Damaged or faulty fuel fill door unlock actuator.

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Fuel fill door cannot be unlocked using the central locking system or release button
  2. Fuel fill door remains locked and cannot be opened manually
  3. Fuel fill door may intermittently unlock and relock on its own
  4. Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may illuminate on the instrument panel
  5. Fuel fill door may fail to lock properly after refueling
