Unable to Engage Park

What you'll notice

• Check the shift interlock solenoid and wiring for any damage or malfunction.
• Inspect the shift cable for any obstructions or damage that may be preventing proper engagement of park.
• Check for a faulty brake light switch, as it may be failing to send the signal to release the shift lock mechanism.
• Inspect the transmission linkage for any misalignment or damage that may be preventing proper engagement of park.

1. Transmission issue, such as a faulty shift solenoid or worn
2. out gears
3. Low transmission fluid level or a leak in the transmission system
4. Malfunctioning parking pawl or parking brake mechanism
5. Faulty brake light switch or wiring issue affecting the park interlock system
6. Mechanical problem with the gear selector or linkage mechanism

1. Difficulty shifting gears
2. Inability to shift into park
3. Vehicle rolls while in park
4. Grinding noise when shifting into park
5. Shifter gets stuck in neutral or another gear
