What it means
P0868 means the measured transmission line pressure is below what's needed to hold the clutches and bands firmly. Low pressure lets the transmission slip, shift harshly, and run hot — conditions that can rapidly damage internal parts. It's one of the more serious transmission codes because it usually reflects a genuine hydraulic problem: low or dirty fluid, a clogged filter, or a weak pump. The engine still starts, but the transmission needs attention before you drive far.
