Fuel Level Sensor B Circuit Low

Fuel level sensing Generic OBD-II Low

What it means

P2067 means fuel level sensor 'B' is reporting an abnormally low voltage to the PCM. This sensor is the in-tank float/sending unit that drives the fuel gauge. The engine starts and runs normally — the practical effect is an unreliable fuel gauge — but on many vehicles it can also block the EVAP monitor. The usual cause is the sending unit or a wiring short-to-ground.

Low

Can I keep driving? Safe to keep driving — the engine runs normally; the main issue is an inaccurate fuel gauge, so watch your mileage until it's fixed.

Common symptoms

What you'll notice

Common causes

Most likely first

  1. Faulty fuel level sensor / sending unit (float)
  2. Sending-unit wiring shorted to ground or open
  3. Poor or corroded connection in the fuel level circuit
  4. Faulty instrument cluster / combination meter

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Read freeze-frame data to confirm the low-voltage condition.
  2. Inspect the sending-unit wiring and connector for a short to ground, opens, or corrosion.
  3. Measure the sending-unit resistance across the float's full travel.
  4. Replace the in-tank fuel level sensor/sending unit if it reads out of range.
  5. If the sensor and wiring are good, check the instrument cluster.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is it safe to drive with P2067?+
Yes — it doesn't affect the engine. Just don't rely on the fuel gauge; track your mileage to avoid running out.
Can I just clear P2067?+
It returns until the sending unit or its wiring is repaired.
