What it means
P2723 means pressure control solenoid 'E' is not performing correctly and appears stuck in the off position, so it can't regulate the hydraulic pressure it's meant to control. That causes slipping, harsh or wrong-gear shifts, and can drop the transmission into limp mode. Usual causes are a stuck or failed solenoid, valve-body debris, or dirty fluid. It's a transmission fault, not an engine-start problem.
