What it means

P2413 means the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system isn't flowing the amount of exhaust the PCM expects — either too little or too much. EGR lowers combustion temperature and NOx emissions; when its performance is out of range it's usually carbon-clogged passages or a sticking valve. The engine still runs but may idle rough, ping under load, or hesitate.
