What it means

P0110 means the ECM has detected a fault in the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor circuit on bank 1. The IAT sensor reports how warm the incoming air is so the ECM can fine-tune the air/fuel mixture and spark timing. A fault here has only a minor effect — slightly off fueling and economy — and does not stop the engine from running or starting.

Work through it in order

Read the IAT value on a scan tool after a cold soak — it should read close to ambient and match the coolant temp on a cold engine.
Inspect the sensor connector and wiring for damage, corrosion, or a loose pin.
Back-probe the circuit for opens or shorts against spec.
Replace the IAT sensor (or the MAF assembly if the sensor is integrated). Clear and re-test.
