What it means

P2227 means the barometric pressure sensor's reading is out of its expected range or not tracking real atmospheric pressure. The PCM uses barometric pressure to adjust fuel and timing for altitude, so a bad reading can cause mild hesitation or slightly off fueling. On many vehicles the baro value is read from the MAP sensor, so that sensor, its wiring, or a plugged port are the common causes.
