Barometric Pressure - Turbocharger/Supercharger Inlet Pressure Correlation Bank 1
What it means
P006D means the barometric pressure reading and the turbocharger/supercharger inlet pressure reading don't agree the way they should — at key-on with the engine off they should be nearly equal. A mismatch usually means one of those pressure sensors is drifting or has a wiring or reference-hose fault. The ECM may limit boost, so the engine can feel down on power.
Can I keep driving? Usually drivable but may be down on power or in reduced-boost mode; no immediate danger, but the mismatch should be diagnosed to restore full boost.

Figures reflect only diagnostic scans recorded through our own apps and tools. Cars are typically scanned because a symptom or warning light prompted it, so these counts describe our scan records — not the incidence of faults in any model, and not the quality, reliability, or safety of any vehicle. Common symptoms
What you'll notice
- Check-engine light on
- Reduced power above idle
- Reduced-boost / limp mode
- Reduced fuel economy
Common causes
Most likely first
- Drifting or faulty turbocharger inlet pressure sensorLikely
- Faulty barometric / MAP pressure sensorCommon
- Wiring or connector fault on either sensorCommon
- Blocked or leaking pressure reference hoseLess often
- Intake or boost leak upsetting the readingsLess often
- Failed ECM (rare)Less often
How to diagnose & fix
Work through it in order
- Scan and compare the barometric and turbo-inlet pressure PIDs — with the engine off at key-on they should read nearly the same.
- Compare each sensor's reading against a known-good value.
- Inspect the sensors' wiring and connectors.
- Check the pressure reference hoses and look for intake/boost leaks.
- Replace whichever sensor is out of range. Clear and re-test.
