What it means

P0106 means the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) or barometric pressure sensor is giving a reading that's electrically valid but doesn't match engine conditions. The ECM uses that pressure to calculate engine load and fuel; when it's off — often from a cracked vacuum hose, a clogged port, or a drifting sensor — the mixture is wrong and the engine can idle rough, hesitate, and lose economy.
